Merlefest Unveils 2006 Lineup

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Nickel Creek, Gillian Welch, Emmylou Harris and Pete Seeger are among the dozens of acts confirmed for the 2006 edition of the Americana-dominated Merlefest, which will be held April 27-30 in Wilkesboro, N.C.The 19th annual event will also include a Woody Guthrie tribute, "Ribbon of Highway Endless Skyway," with participation from Slaid Cleaves, Eliza Gilkyson, Jimmy LaFave, Johnny Irion and Sarah Lee Guthrie.
Other artists confirmed for Merlefest are the Waybacks featuring Bob Weir, Sam Bush Band, the Jerry Douglas Band, Guy Clark, the Tony Rice Unit, Hot Tuna, the Ditty Bops, Thad Cockrell and Caitlin Cary and the Grascals.Merlefest tickets go on sale Nov. 8 via the event's Web site or 800-343-7857.
