Spend Christmas with The Grateful Dead
From All About Jazz:
Spend Christmas with The Grateful Dead
90.5 The NIGHT will spend Christmas with The Grateful Dead
Brookdale Public Radio has presented its annual “Christmas With...”
programming special for the last four years. Once again this year, 90.5 The
NIGHT celebrates the holiday by airing classic songs, album sides, rarities and
a complete concert, from one artist chosen by our listeners.
This year, music from the legendary Grateful Dead will be played
exclusively from 1PM until 7PM. The landmark concert from September 3, 1977 at
Raceway Park in Old Bridge, NJ will be aired in its entirety as a special
feature. Over 100,000 people packed into the park to attend this show. This
concert was a treat to all fans in 1977, marking The Grateful Dead's return
after a long hiatus from touring due to Mickey Hart's unfortunate auto accident.
Brookdale Public Radio, 90.5 The NIGHT is a non-commercial educational
public radio station licensed to Brookdale Community College. 90.5 The NIGHT is
a five-time winner of The Asbury Music Award for “Top Radio Station to Support
Local Music”.
Check out their website, they have an online stream.

????
except for the 41 shows they played in '76...oh yeah and the 36 shows they had played up till that point in '77...
I see your point...I think they mean that it was the only show that Summer (instead of the common Summer Tour). But they do make it sound like a giant drought.
ahh. that makes more sense. i guess when i see the word "hiatus" in reference to the dead, i automatically think of THE hiatus.
