Grateful Dead Lyrics Tops List Of Readers' Favorites Popular magazine
The Music Box has released the ranking of its readers' favorites for the fourth quarter of 2005. Topping the list is David Dodd's The Complete Annotated Grateful Dead Lyrics. This is the first time that a book has topped The Music Box's quarterly list.
Trailing the tome is the Grateful Dead's DVD Dead Ahead, Jerry Garcia's compilation CD Ladder to the Stars: Garcia Plays Dylan, and Miles Davis' box set The Cellar Door Sessions 1970. Said The Music Box's founder John Metzger, "It was a good year for the Grateful Dead, and it looks like our readers felt that way, too." These rankings are compiled from sales and traffic statistics through The Music Box's web site.
The Music Box was founded in 1994 as a hard copy newsletter, but it has flourished since joining the internet community in 1997. The publication covers a wide array of music, including blues, jazz, country, bluegrass, folk, and the many configurations of rock and roll. Subscribers to The Music Box's e-mail list and regular visitors to its web site are treated to reviews of the latest albums, DVDs, movies, books, and concerts as well as in-depth interviews and articles, daily music news, and tour date information. In addition, members of its e-mail list are eligible to win a variety of items. This month's giveaway includes copies of Phish's New Year’s Eve 1995: Live at Madison Square Garden. Each year, several million guests visit the site, which has surpassed 2, 900 pages of information.

I received David Dodd's annotated for Christmas and really love it. So informative and a great addition to my Box of Rain lyric book which is about to crumble from it's heavy use.
I've got to say this line from the Music Box article sort of hit my funny bone!
"flourished since joining the internet community"
Ha!
Peace.................
